A disappointment to Star Trek Fans

The writers missed the point with basis of what Star Trek was about. The original characters strengths were dismissed and given over to characters that were losers and disappointments. My husband put it well when he said it appeared kids wrote this story. There was no story line continuity. Even the details of the make up and set were sloppy. Spocks ears kept changing through out the movie. Regular PDAs were plugged in on the consoles. How hard would it be to design something that look futuristic. Even the ending dialogue, with which is repeated on every Star Trek taking, was altered to make it politically correct. A big disappointment.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
