Meryl Streep pulled off a broad range of emotions and business in her usual professional style. Baldwin was good but rather type-cast. Steve Martin did a good job in a fairly dramatic role, and had good chemistry with Streep.
Very entertaining throughout with a pretty good ending.
"It's a Sandra Bullock flick." Many know what that means, just like many know what "It's a Bruce Willis flick." means.
It's cute, it's fun, it's contrived, it's got a Hollywood formula story line, but that's OK.
In this one, she's intensely whacked out and obsessive over "Steve", her blind date, whom she actually never gets to know, but whom she stalks throughout most of the movie.
The supporting cast is colorful. I like the Chinese guy who does a great job in his role, and I keep forgetting to look at the credits for the name of that weaselly guy in the blue hat with the pointed nose who drove a Gremlin. He's good, too, just like in other flicks and TV in his various creepy, geeky roles.
