"Expelled ... No Intelligence Allowed" is really NOT a movie about religion or science or even the topics of intelligent design or evolution. Although Ben spends most of the film confronting proponents of Darwinism with a lesser amount devoted to intelligent design, but upon careful analysis of the content you will discover a more disturbing theme. What Mr. Stein is actually exposing it the loss of yet another freedom. This film reveals that we, the American people must not allow the erosion of our free society. Since the founding of this great nation people have suffered personally because of their color, religion, philosophy, ethnic background and even their gender. This movie actually is exposing yet another "school yard bully" and screams ... unfair, unfounded, undeserved and unbelievable. We are a people and a nation that proudly embraces freedom but our so called freedom is not freedom if some are chastised because they hold different views and ideologies. Truly free people can espouse their beliefs, disagreements, sociology, theories, discontent etc., but when any individual or grouping of individuals begin the process of punitive action, or intimidation, or otherwise deny the legal rights of others they are guilty of oppression. Oppression leads to many unthinkable actions.
To me "Expelled" is an alarm bell sounding a warning to a complacent society with a mindset that says, "it bothers me not unless it bothers me." Think about it, you could be expelled next... really.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
