One of the lines spoken by the future King George VI was "When I ride in this car and look at ordinary people going about their lives I marvel at how little I know about them and how little they know about me." One of the sources of fascination of this movie is the look behind the scenes in the life of modern royalty. That life is based upon numerous anachronisms, some laughable. Be that as it may this movie succeeds in winning the audiences sympathy for the challenges the main characters face. The writing, acting, and direction were all superb. I recommend it highly.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A fine adaptation of the book, especially so given the detail, richness, and nuance of the latter.
I thought the move was a worthy addition to the Toy Story series and recommend it for all age groups while my wife---who teaches preschool---thought some of the material was not suitable for the youngest children. She said the theme of rejection was powerful for preschoolers and she objected to the premise that a particular toy (the purple bear) would have a mean disposition.
My wife and I attended this movie less than two weeks after our twenty-fifth anniversary. This story was poignant for its reminders of universal truths, such as: (a) a full life includes pains as well as joys; (b) the child is the father of the man; and (c) to keep a marriage together for the sake of the children---even if it the romance is gone---is the right thing to do. This movie is refreshingly free of the moral relativism of so many modern products of Hollywood.
