If you're a fan of the series like me, you'll want to see it anyway. It's not horrible, but it's definitely not the same. Seeing the characters again is fun, the story is mildly entertaining, but the big glaring negative about the movie is that it doesn't capture the spirit of the other 3. The Indy/Marion romance rekindling was painful and awkward. I wanted to really like the movie, it just left me wanting to see the original again. If you don't expect too much it is at least entertaining enough to justify the matinée admission price.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
