I didn't know what to expect as I have not read the book. I thought it was going to be about Christmas and that it might be good for the entire family.
My 6 year old boy said it was too sad. My 8 year old girl said it was scary and my 10 year old girl spent half of the movie crying.
The morals and the presentation are excellent however I would think twice about bringing small children with you.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
