Too many war scenes

The advertising for this movie didn't match the movie. It's more of a war action adventure movie with some very long and graphic war scenes. I was expecting more of a feel good movie for families. It does have some of those moments, however, the war scenes - I couldn't watch most of them and kept staring at the floor instead.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Going to be a Classic

All I can say about this film is WOW! I have friends who have lived in the south and they say a lot of what is in the movie could have happened (I live in the Midwest). It's terrible that people have (and probably are to some degree) been treated that way - but I'm very glad the story is being told. People need to be aware of the message.
I wouldn't be surprised if this movie becomes a classic. It's absolutely awesome that way it's presented.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A male friend of mine wanted to see this show so I went with him. It is very funny - but very gross, vulgar. It's a stupid funny. He thoroughly enjoyed the movie. And I benefit, too, - he owes me at least 4-6 chick flicks (it was that over the top gross).
No, I do not recommend this movie.

American version of Sherlock Holmes

This movie wasn't at all what I was expecting until near the end. I'm used to the British Sherlock Holmes where it's more of the mystery and mental game instead of physical violence. This American version had a LOT of fighting in it - I guess to please American audiences that are used to more physical violence and less mental aptitude.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Absolutely Awesome

I loved it. The talent and artistic quality was absolutely breathtaking. It did take a little while to get used to the sparse setting with predominantly black and white, however, once I did - the focus was on the music, the plot, and the acting. It did make sense since most of the opera is dramatic and intense with the basic black and white. When the celebration occurred at the end, everyone was in colorful costumes. We were in one of the regular theaters, however, it would have been nice to have this in the CinemaSuites at AMC where you could lounge in the large recliners since the movie ended up being about 3 hours long.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie is going to be a classic. Absolutely loved the movie - well written, acted, and directed. Most of the audience were in their 30s and up. I'm not sure it will hold a teenager's attention - more for an emotionally mature audience.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It's a cute movie but not a classic. I saw it twice - it started to get a little old the second time. The movie does have several hilarious moments and I would suggest the movie to others - but I wouldn't buy the DVD for it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Feel Good Movie for All Ages

This is a fun movie for all ages. I went with a group from 40 - 60 years young and we all enjoyed it. A family was sitting next to us with two children around 5ish - they enjoyed it, too. It took a little while to get used to some of the changes (reality vs imaginary) but it didn't take long. Definitely would recommend it to anyone over the age of 3 or 4 (not quite sure if younger would stay interested all of the time).
Yes, I recommend this movie.
