My husband and I went to this movie with little expectation, but with an affection for both actors Renee and Harry. We had an enjoyable time watching this movie. There was heart warming laughs galore with the Minnesota humor! We thought the plot was a little bit predictable, but still made for a surprisingly good movie, better than say ..."He's just not that into you".
True stories are compelling and draw us in and this story is no different in that respect . As nice a job as Ange did in this, she's becomin a little ho-hum for me. The whole time I was watching this movie, I had flash backs of Ms Pearl popping up in my mind instead of the character that Jolie was trying to play. In Mighty Heart she was the distressed and tormented wife of a missing husband..........here she is the distressed and tormented mother of a missing boy. I think I would have been less distracted by this fact if Easwood would have picked a different actress to play the part. After awhile there is only just so much wailing you can take from Ms Jolie before it all starts to sound like the "same old story".
This movie has a big heart with a lot of B acting. If you can't afford "real" marriage counciling and your marriage is in need of help, go see this movie, preferably WITH your significant other. Otherwise avoid it like the plague...........
If you are a die-hard 007 fan you will love this movie! However having said that, if you are even slightly ADD or have any remote eye-brain computing deficit , you will find this movie difficult , if not frustrating, to watch and follow.
The rapid sequencing of the action scenes combined with the rapid seqeuncing of some of the surrounding outside action happening at the same time is enough to make even the most keen person go into a seizure trying to keep up with it all. Too much imput and action going on at the same time folks, to put it plainly. The pace feels literally schizophrenic. Somehow it just does not play out as a pleasant or enjoyable experience to the average person
