Great entertainment. The prologue & 1st act was too crowded, othervise OK. The best was 2nd act, primarily bcause it was simpler and more to the point. Wonderful voices. Would get 5 stars except for the crowded scenes.
Spectacular production by Franco Zeffirelli. Puccini's musical Masterpiece. Not many melodic arias, and non-existent acting. Cast was first-rate.The frequent audio interuptions were very distracting. Fix this next time!
This is NOT a movie! Grandiose lush colorful production. A bit old-fashioned. Marvelous choreography. Great singings if not acting. Very informative and exciting Intermission features: backstage, changing of the huge scenes, as well as interviews. These are missing when going to the Opera House. Overall an exciting satisfying experience.
I had a wonderful time. The singers, besides great voices, were also great actors. One caveat: the prince, althoug he had an excellent voice, did not move well, and barely acted. He is too short and pudgy. Needs elevator shoes. He needs lessons how to move. On the whole, it was an excellent comedic experience. Rossini's music is wonderful.
