Colin Firth's performance was a tour de force. He not only captured the verbal stammering of George VI, but also the bodily movements that accompany stammering. He managed to create a nuanced character, integrating the stammering into the monarch's personality but not allowing it to create a flat character. Firth's performance was simply one of the best I have ever seen. The rest of the cast was also wonderful. Helena Bonham-Carter and Jeffrey Rush, especially so. I loved the movie and for anyone who is interested in acting technique, it is a "must see"!
