A deeply affecting and very well done movie with fine performances that I would strongly recommend almost regardless of cinematic taste. Not particularly original, however, which almost led me to give it 4 stars rather than 5. Essentially a midlevel intensity western -- which isn't to say there isn't real violence and excitement -- combined with a chick flick. Great cinematography and a lot less of the typical Luhrman excesses than the reviews had led me to expect.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
