First off, the reviews are pretty accurate in the sense that the movie did "butcher" history by trying to add a theatrical aspect to it. However, this shouldn't discredit the film itself, or the actresses- Natalie and Scarlet, as for Eric he could have done better. Considering the genre of historical dramas, it is one that is hard to embody. With that said, it's even more difficult to translate books to scripts, (ie. harry potter, lord of the rings,etc.). For it's particular genre the movie isn't too bad. It keeps you at the edge of your seat for the most part, but I don't think it's worth $10. Wait til it comes out on DVD. Aside from the phenomenal acting delivered by Scarlet and Natalie, the movie is quite dull; so don't go into it expecting too much.
