As a fan of the comic, I had very high expectations for the movie, and it really didn't disappoint me at all. It is a superb adaptation of the story, and the care for all the small details (one of the things that make the novel so special) is just amazing. I'm sure you'd enjoy the movie more if you read the comic before, but still without that, it is a great, complex and dark movie. Simply a must-see.
Didn't know at all what to expect... The result: very cool special effects, but the story feels flat and empty. It's a weird sensation to be sitting in a theater and not have any particular feeling about a movie that just ended. Normally I feel it's "Good", "Not Good", "Ok", but this movie didn't do anything to me!
Critics have been a little too harsh on that movie, it's not THAT bad at all (I've seen much worse action movies). It's definitely not going to make it as a classic, but if you've felt it was fun in Rambo IV to see the bad guys literally get shredded to pieces and if it makes you laugh hard when it gets over-the-top gory, then that's definitely a movie worth seeing, although it could also wait for the DVD
Liked the first one, found the second one was still ok, over the top but funny. Now this one I found was just bad. Particularly the plot and the dialogs. Don't get me wrong, I know it's not right to expect great dialogs from a movie like Transporter, but there is a minimum to give to an audience. Never saw the russian girl in a movie before, must be her first time. It shows... This is not the worst scenario from Luc Besson, but in light of his recent movies it doesn't mean it's pretty bad.
Touching and really really funny, equally enjoyable for kids as well as adults, Bolt is on the same level of greatness as the Incredibles. Don't even hesitate! Good job Disney!
I think the problem is I built too much expectation for that movie ever since they started showing the previews... It is indeed much less refined than Casino Royale, with a LOT (perhaps too many) action scenes. The movie does feel like a big action scene from beginning to end. Still an enjoyable Bond, but overall far from the quality of the preceding one
... you're a kid or have kids to bring with you: Unlike the press movie critics say, the first one left me with a good impression, most importantly it felt as much adults oriented as kids oriented. For this one, it was something quite different. There were very few scenes that made me laugh, and overall I found the jokes not refined at all. So I would say 3.5 stars if you have kids to bring with you, and 2 stars if you're an adult. One animation movie to see instead is Bolt: Simply a thousand times better
If you liked movies like Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Zack and Miri make a p-o-r-n-o, or any other comedy of this kind, then you're gonna enjoy this one.
Not a lot to say, of course the story isn't what you look for in that movie, but it's just hilarious from the 1st minute 'til the end. I laughed so much more than during Pineapple Express. If you like the usual sex oriented discussions that you find in Seth Rogen's movies, you'll definitely love this one. If you're easily offended by nudity and curse words, pick another movie. MAKE SURE YOU STAY UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF THE CREDITS AT THE END
I wasn't too sure what to expect for that movie... Turns out it wasn't bad at all. It looks like it's a requirement for gangster movies taking place in the UK to have a around 15-20 characters interacting with one another... I find it makes an interesting british gangster movie whose story may get complicated sometimes, but enjoyable with a nice touch of humor. Worth seeing!
