Hard to make a retrospective chronicle into a move, but I woudl have liked them to have tried. What they came up with was a pretty decent zombie movie that is well worth seeing - it just isn't World War Z.
Three adults took our five kids age ranging from 4 to 10 and everyone enjoyed the movie. My girlfriend just posted "HIGHLY recommend Toy Story 3" on her face book and our neighbor who brought his 8 year old son who was seeing the movie for the second time and loved it. It was a little scary at the end for the 4 year old and the 6 year old was a little frighted by the evil purple bear (who smells like strawberries - LOL). 5 starts for it being good for the whole family - but for the adults call it 4 starts. There was no "Shrek like" humor for us :-)
I have a 1st, 2nd and a 4th grader. the 2nd and the 4th graders have read the books and rated the movie "9 and 1/2 dad!" and "8 and 1/2" dad, respectively :-)
The 1st grader loved it too and he now wants to read the series. A great movie for a young family.
Clint is a grizzled, polish catholic war vet that just lost his wife ... and there is never one second of the film where you do not believe it. Superb acting. Great supportive cast. Adult and ribald ethnic and racial slurs through out the movie mean that you need to leave your Birkenstocks at the door and just go in an immerse yourself in the story. If you can do that - it is a winner. If not, stay home and get the DVD and "tsk-tsk" at home with your friends in a few months.
The neighbors started to love that grizzled old vet when his own family did not - and so did I.
