Thank heaven that there are some movies where you can still have a laugh or three, and when the movie is over you are happy and feeling like you have had a good time.
The movie fails to have much in the way of high end acting or writing, but it was a fun, entertainment for a hot afternoon! :-) Not the kind of movie I would buy on DVD, but it was OK, once in the theater.
When I go to a movie, I'm looking for entertainment. Sometimes "scary" movies are fun. This was one of the few that I was really tempted to walk out on. It is disgusting. The people that made this movie should never be allowed to write anything else again. Garbage.
This was a very interesting and meaningful movie. It was a surprise to me, frankly, that it didn't slam the military as I thought it was going to. It turned out to be a respectful and honorable account of the brave soldiers that handle this kind of very difficult and dangerous assignment.
While history is always being edited and rewritten, this seems to be a fairly accurate of the times. It was interesting, exciting and probably fairly meaningful historically.
This is the kind of movie that could become a minor cult classic. It could also wind up on DVD within days....... In fact, it should probably have gone directly to DVD...... It really was difficult to stay awake for parts of it. And no, I won't be buying the DVD.
The sad thing is that this is a fun movie. The bad thing is that it's 3D. The 3D part isn't nearly worth the extra $3.00 they charge for it. It's a fun movie for kids, but it's just not worth the 3D option.
This movie is mostly special effects masquerading as cinema. Most of the time the dialog is so drowned out by noise that it's impossible to understand what is happening, especially if you are unfamiliar with the franchise. The movie draws in the younger crowd but also brings so much violence and inappropriate innuendo that it's embarrassing for a good parent. It's also impossible to tell one Transformer from another when they are action engaged. There is just too much mess on the screen at a time.
While it was about what I expected, it is kind of sad that it wasn't more. Christian Bale's character tended to fall flat. Not by any fault of his but more because of his dialog. It was just weak. Beyond that, it was good. And pretty much followed the previous time line requirements set forth in earlier Terminators.
