It was a delight to be able to watch a Broadway show for the price of a movie ticket in my hometown cinema. The theater was packed, unusual for a Wednesday night.
The only odd part was holding back the inclination to applaud after great numbers. Finally, the audience just got comfortable and clapped anyway.
This was like candy - but some kind of (almost) wholesome candy that a self-respecting arthouse patron could enjoy. Funny, great scenery, good writing, and all the jazzy little tricks of a House the West Was Won -- with Adrian Brody.
