We saw the 3D version and the visuals were good but it just was not worth the money.

Excellent Fun

As usual, the movie showed all the special touches and human insight that Spielberg brings to all his work (even when he is ot the Director). It reminded me of "The Goonies" that even though I am an adult I thouroughly enjoyed. The young actors are excellent and bring you totally into their lives. So even though there is a juxtaposition of science fiction and reality, the "realness" of the characters make it more believable,and make you want to believe. My actual rating would be 4.5 stars.

It was a good solid movie but by introducing the time anomoly the movie changed what happened in the series and other movies. Also, it was not very plausible for all the characters to serve on the USS Enterprise "first time out" nor for a non-graduate to skip right up to Captain. Also the age difference of the characters was not enough based on the series I would have preferred for the movie to be more plausible.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
