Dark, Depressing, & Strange

I gave this 2 stars for the animation. The movie is as I said above, dark, depressing, & very strange. I don't want to see it again either. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR CHILDREN 12 & UNDER. One of the main reasons why is because there is a particular scene where a VERY busty mermaid is doing a dance, & it is totally inappropriate for small children to see. Plus, the movie has a SCARY tone about it, w/scary characters, so be warned if your child has problems with having nightmares. I'm really wishing I hadn't spent $$ to see this.

Good Performances

This is not a super-exciting movie, however, it's worth seeing due to the performances of the top 3 main characters/actors. I honestly thought that Amy Adams OUTDID Meryl Streep. Amy really was perfectly cast in that role, & she did the job brilliantly. Philip Seymour Hoffman was his usual superb self, he was excellent. Meryl Streep was OK, but I guess I'm used to seeing her in much meatier roles--there just wasn't much here for her to do really.

All I can say is FUNNY, FUNNY, FUNNY!! This is one of THE FUNNIEST Madea movies yet. I'm so hooked, I gotta have more, & I hope Tyler give us another Madea movie real soon, because I know I'm going to have withdrawal symptoms soon! I will definitely watch this one over & over again & will get it when it goes to DVD. LOVED the jailhouse ministry message, it's for all of us. DON'T MISS THIS ONE, YOU'LL BE SORRY IF YOU DO!!!

AWESOME!!

This was a cool action movie - Liam Neeson was SO AWESOME with all the stunts he did as the 1-man commando type. He has been one of my favorite actors for a long time now, & am so glad to see him back in this hit movie.This kept me on the edge of my seat!! Can't wait to see this again, or even for there to be a sequel - here's hoping.

Pretty Funny!!!

LOVE Steve Martin, & have for years now. He really is the best Inspector Closeau, & I do appreciate the clean comedy, that's always nice. This has got some pretty funny stunts in it, so I definitely recommend this for the whole family.

SO SUPER FUNNY!!

Renee Zellweger was so brilliantly funny in this extremely entertaining movie. Harry Connick Jr. was also super excellent in his role (and cute too!). I LOVED that this movie was rated PG, & it was not lacking ANYTHING. I hope the Hollywood producers will take notice that not everything has to be dirty or disgusting in order for people to be entertained. THIS MOVIE IS A MUST SEE, WORTH EVERY PENNY OF TICKET PRICE!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT AGAIN!

POWERFUL!!

WOW, this is Clint at his best, really. I thought it was so funny how he walked around literally growling at everyone, & honest to goodness, I thought he was going to turn into the big, bad, green Hulk @ any minute. There was one particular scene where it really looked like that would happen. This was a FABULOUS STORY, very touching as well as entertaining. THERE ARE LESSONS FOR ALL OF US TO LEARN FROM THIS MOVIE, SO DON'T MISS IT--LOVED IT!!

Very Moving

**LOVED** Mickey Rourke, he gave such a touching & realistic performance, I think he is sooooo sexy looking!! The story is really sad because this aging wrestler's got NOTHING in the way of material possessions, & he just can't seem to be successful when it comes to close, personal relationships. But the one line he had as he was going into his re-match: "This world doesn't want anything to do with me/doesn't care about me", really sums it up. I felt so very sorry for his character. MICKEY ROURKE DESERVES AN OSCAR FOR THIS PERFORMANCE, & I HOPE HE GETS IT!!!!! A+A+A+A+A+A+A+

WOW, FABULOUS!!

I just can't say enough good things about this film: the performances by Kate & Leonardo are absolutely PERFECT, BRILLIANT, & DRAMATIC, now THIS is a movie! This is in another class, far away from all the other run of the mill type movies that are out today. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this movie. Even though it's set in the '50s, what this couple is going thru is still very relevant to for today's couples.
Leonardo DiCaprio is an absolutely BRILLIANT actor. His performance in this movie, as an erring but loving & responsible husband is nothing short of an Academy Award Performance, bar none, & I sure hope he gets it, because he deserves it. I also feel the same way about Kate Winslet.
