Dragged on

Although I had figured the major plot twist from the trailers months ago, I still went into this movie expecting a decent picture. Sadly, it dragged on, thus turning it into a confusing mess. It wasn't that I didn't "get" the picture...it was that some parts were carried out for so long that I began to get bored and think of what was coming next.
The acting was good. DiCaprio plays a believable character, and I kept asking myself if Ben Kingsley was a good guy or not throughtout the picture. Max Von Sydow's character was one you didn't want to trust, as usual.
Overall, I was disappointed. Would rate 2.5 stars.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

not nearly as funny as the first

The first chipmunks movie was enjoyable, but this one really fell flat. I was disappointed and expected more laughs. This one had less music and fewer laughs. Even the poster looked similiar to the first one.
I didn't expect this to be great and the children, aged 8 and 9, enjoyed it. They could have done much more with the female chipmunks and added a new villian.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Inspiring with unexpected humor

This is one of those movies that just makes you feel good. I expected a tear jerker throughout, but there is enough humor peppered throughout to relieve some of the tension.
Possible spoiler below...but not really...
On various message boards people have complained about a "jab" at President Bush. In my opinion, it wasn't a jab at Bush, rather, the lady at the desk was telling Bullock's character that if she had an issue, that's where she could take it. People have taken this way too seriously.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Enojyable Comedy with an Indie Feel

As a fan of both Ellen Page and Drew Barrymore, I enjoyed this movie. Seeing Ellen page as a would-be beauty queen was funny enough, but I laughed out loud quite a bit. There were a few points were the movie slowed down a bit, and there wasn't as much going on. I saw a few families in there, and I wouldn't recommend it for the young ones as there is quite a bit of language in it. Definately has an Indie quality to it...which can be referesing. It doesn't rely on big budget effects. It's not as good as Juno....but I willstill buy it on DVD. Give it 3.5 stars.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Even better than before

I have both of these movies numerous times, and even so, I still laughed out loud during both. No, there are not "pop out at you" special effects. As others have described, it gave the picture more depth. I was able to spot things in the background that I have never noticed, and this made it an enjoyable experience for me.
As for the complaint about the size of the 3D glasses- don't blame the theatres. They have no control over these. The type of glasses depends on the projector. In most cases, the glasses are either Real-D or Master Image. While these are larger than the paper red and green lenses, they provide a better picture than the earlier style.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I think most people have experienced a relationship simialr to that of Zooey and Joseph in this movie. While some people have complained about the numbers on the screen, i didn't find it distracting at all. Actually, going beack and forth between the days ties the story together much better, rather than starting at day one and going consecutively through to day 500. I truly enjoyed this, and recommend it. Not quite a chick flick- my fiancee enjoyed it as well.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The movie was cute, but very predictable. Enjoyed seeing all of the gadgets... and absolutely loved Nicolas Cage's nasally voice that hasn't been heard since Peggy Sue Got Married (although I'm not a fan).
Enjoyable for the younger groups.... my 9 yr old brother and 7 yr old step son both enjoyed it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Thought Provoking and Simply Amazing

I was amazed that the actions of a few people in a small city had such an impact on the capture of dolphins, and I was even more amazed at the risks taken by the team to expose these people. But there is more to the movie- drama, action, even a few bits of comedy. I even felt a sense of irony when those who take place in the cover-up themselves feel the effects.
On a side note, if you are wondering how the large whale balloon when undetected (sort-of) stay through the end credits.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Let me start by saying that I am not a Tarantino fan. This movie, however, just might make me one. I went in not sure of what to expect. Yes, some of it is quite violent. If you go in expecting a Brad Pitt movie, you will be disappointed. I found my self eagerly awaiting the climax. There is also some great huomr peppered throughout the movie, and that was unexpected but quite welcomed. If I could, I would give it 4.5 stars. Loved the ending, even if it wasn't historically accurate.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

What I expected

The movie was exactly what I expected it to be... an intense action film with lots of explosions and transforming robots. The acting was average, but not as bad as other reviewers have made it out to be. For families with younger children-While both Transformers have been rated PG13, this one has many more crude material and innuendos. I felt ok recommending the previous one for an 8 or 9 year old, but not this one. The MPAA rating tells you WHY it is rated as such. Leave little ones at home.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
