This production is THRILLING! I doubt there'll be a better CARMEN in our lifetimes - The Met's HD broadcasts are always wonderful to watch, but this one is a standout. Loved the sets, costumes, conducting, dancing, and the gorgeous, passionate cast. And for an extra treat, the scheduled Escamillo fell ill and was replaced on short notice by one of my favorite opera stars - the charming and dashing Teddy Tahu Rhodes - Now there's a Toreador!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
