I thought the movie was good overall, but about two thirds through, I felt like I was watching "Cloverfield" all over again, and had to close my eyes about half the time from then on...at least I could enjoy the aural part of the film, which was very good. Writing about it 24 hours later and I get the queasiness again. Be forewarned if prone to this problem. Otherwise, enjoy!
Some recent reviewers apparently didn't get the sugar-coated Hollywood/fairytale ending they expected/wanted/needed. I thoroughly enjoyed it; it is original and well written with an excellent cast. Spot on. Must see for film lovers; there is a popcorn movie now showing on Screen 24 for others.
Chose this film to see with our 15 y/o daughter, since she had already seen everything I wanted to see. I had high expectations for a Peter Jackson film, which weren't met. I connected with the Limbo portions, but from previews I expected more interaction with the living, where all the characters deserved more fleshing out. We had more discussion afterwards about this flick than any other in the past year. My daughter will certainly stay away from strangers. Glad we saw it, but can't recommend.
