One of the best movies of the year. If you are not a fight fan, then be prepared to not watch certain scenes. Overall, though, well worth watching for the performances. Can understand why Wahlberg wanted to make the film. Just an excellent experience at the movies.
Nancy Meyers again shows why she is one of Hollywood's best. Excellent script carried out to perfection by Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin. Steve Martin once again plays Steve Martin, (very similar to the movies with Queen Latifah). John Krasinski is very good. Very entertaining.
A good example of character study. Downey has matured and plays his character appropriately. Jamie Foxx continues to amaze and show why he is really one of the best actors in Hollywood.
Thought that the writing was not equal to the acting. Actors played their typical characters but they were not bad. Writing was gutter type humor. Not recommending to a friend. Predict that this film will be down to two showings in each theater within two weeks.
Overall, I thought that the movie was good, not great and I do not think Best Picture quality. I understand the characters but thought that the violence was a masquerade for not having much character development. There were characters missing and other development lacking. The violence, although necessary, seemed a bit much
Certainly not Annie Hall. Somewhat of a character study without much development. Saved by the sets and Penelope Cruz. Otherwise, I found it a bland although not terrible story.
Decent movie compared to what is out there today. Ellen Page and Sarah Jessica Parker play the same type characters as always. Dennis Quaid is actually pretty good. Thomas Haden Church seems to play same character. Decent writing. As title says, not great but not bad either.
