Just what we need. Every lowly waitress to think that their child is the savior of all mankind. The dialogue is awful and forced. The "hero" of the story is absolutely awful and does very little to even be called so.
Paul Bettany and Quaid are what carry this movie, but even their acting can't save this bomb from being one of the worst movies this year. The old lady scene is classic and will stick with you if you see it. Skip this one and don't look back. You'll thank me.
This movie was awesome. It has religious overtones, but rings true with how the world would be after a nuclear "end-all" war. There are reminders of the "5th Element" in the acting of Gary Oldman and the situations he finds himself in. This movie surpassed my expectations in a big way and there is definitely more than meets the eye in this film. I am actually going to see this again.
I have to say that Alec Baldwin was absolutely hilarious and every scene with him in it was absolutely fantastic. Martin and Krasinski play a decent second fiddle. Definitely see this with a group of people. Besides Avatar, this is the best movie currently in theaters and hits it's mark wonderfully.
I like what was done to the characters in this film. There was a mysterious plot. There were great explanations for every question. It was interesting to watch how things unfolded in the mind of Holmes. It seems a bit on the unrealistic side, though. Makes me think of how 007 would be if it were in olden days.
You must see this in 3D. If you love movies, you can't go wrong with Avatar. The direction is brilliant and immerses you in the world of Avatar. Kind of makes you wish you were there.
I expected more laughs out of this movie with Vinnie Vaughn in it. The first 20 minutes is OK, the middle is stagnant and boring, and the last 20 minutes is OK. The ending feels scripted and rushed as you get the ending that you expect. Nothing new here, and not much to laugh about. This movie seemed phoned in and I wish I just rented it.
I wish I could give this no stars. The media has made M.J. seem bigger than Jesus, and I think it is very wrong. Some say that this movie is a tribute to a pop icon. Well, why do you have to pay money out of your pocket if the theme of M.J. is "love". Why did this movie come out so soon? The answer - The family is trying to cash in on all the blind followers, and there are plenty of them out there. Buck the trend and sit this one out.
Even if you are a fan of the series, you may get tired of the same old same old. Tobin Bell gets more screen time than I expected, which is always a plus. The only good thing about this movie was the moral. A statement on health care insurers and people being denied coverage by "death panels". Tries to be relevant to today's political health care debate. Lots of blood and guts if that's what you're looking for.
I would have given this 4 stars, but the budget that this film was made with earns it the extra star. Well done. I am a veteran of scary movie and even this one made me uncomfortable in my own bed for a few nights. Prepare to be scared. People who don't like shaky handheld camcorders are advised to stay away, as there is plenty of that.
WAYYY too much male nudity. I can't believe he got away with an R rating. Should be NC-17.
As far as all the folks saying it was funnier than Borat, it wasn't. It does make some interesting comparisons, but it does so with shock-flick grotesqueness. I have seen some gross movies in my time, including the "Faces of death" series, and even I thought this movie went too far. My wife can't get this movie out of her head. Just disgusting.
