If you like Jonah Hill, you will enjoy this...he is perfect in a role that he has mastered...the insecure, but snarky geek who can't catch a break. We laughed throughout, ..the whole audience (3/4 full at late showing..in 3 theatres same complex ), seemed to enjoy it...a lot of laughing....the barroom scene was a big hit. Surprisingly, the kids were pretty funny...cute, but not too cute. Better than many comedies we have seen in the last year.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Language Spoils an Otherwise Good Movie

I agree with some others that were surprised at the amount of swearing and crude references just for the sake of crudeness rather than laughs. Otoh...the cinematography was beautiful (oddly...considering they went low end on the dialogue) and the special effects were decent. The plot itself was pretty good, and as was posted in other reviews...it could have been a great movie without the genitalia gags, etc. If you can ignore the nonsense...(which is not easy)...it's a good spoof on the knight in shining armor genre. Natalie Portman and James Franco are both very easy on the eyes. just sayin. ; )
