A quiet, simple story of two mothers' struggle to survive. Maybe not in this way, but there are so many people around us who struggle just to get by, through no fault of their own. It made us look at our own lives and realize how much we have to be thankful for. This movie reminded me of how I felt after seeing the play "Grapes of Wrath." Though the 2 women in our group expressed more appreciation for the movie, the men liked it too.
Except for the fact that it was often difficult to understand the dialogue (combination of British accent and too much background noise), both my husband and I like the movie very much. It felt very real and we shared the characters' emotions. While the flashbacks were confusing at times, that is what contributed to it being so thought-provoking. It gave us something to talk about after the movie, trying to sort fact from her fiction. I would certainly recommend this movie.
