I took my 3-year old granddaughter. We both were entertained, but the movie didn't "stick" as one that needed to be purchased when on DVD. The movie is probably more targeted for the 6-8 crew, and I would think more for boys than girls. It was worth seeing, and artfully done, but just not on my list of favorites. When quizzed, my very smart granddaughter, couldn't identify one character she identified with--not so good for marketing merchandise.
Took all 4 grandkids (13-year old boy, 12-year old boy, 11-year old girl, 3-year old girl, and me--don't ask). Each of us totally enjoyed the movie, and there was something for everyone to see. It's the first movie the 3-year old sat still for and wasn't frightened. The 13-year old history buff, and me, the museum buff, very much appreciated the history. The 12- and 11-year olds each thought it was cool. I got a little antsy watching them toss the ruby slippers and play with the artifacts. Loved some of the special effects with the art. Each of us had a different favorite part. Great family experience! Wonderful way to teach the kids.
