The first movie was much funnier, and better entertainment for children. The setting is in a high school, and it's not believable that the chipmunks are teens. There are disturbing bullying scenes that are not appropriate for young children -- things like a boy getting his head pushed in a toilet -- the same thing happens to Simon. Another theme is people getting hurt; one a grandmother in a wheelchair who falls down a flight of stairs. The chartacter who ran "Jett Records" in this movie is more evil. Not entertaining for children who just want to see chipmunks sing. On that note, when the chipmunks do perform, they are adorable, and save the movie from itself.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
