This is one that has not come along for some time. Hidden insights throughout the film, great cast and acting. Leonardo pulls it all in. If you loved Hitchcock or Serling, it is as if they were contributing from the beyond. Go see this movie and definitely buy the DVD for your collection.
John trumps Denzel...wow. Not since Travolta played the diabolical government operative in Swordfish has he brought this kind of intensity to a role. Having seen the original, this newer much higher tech adaptation lends the technology of today and enhances the action with quick cut cinematography. It is another feather in the cap for Tony Scott.
Pardon the direct reference from the movie itself, but other than the star power that this movie has and the sometime funny bits that fill this otherwise annoying dialogue, Tropic Thunder belongs on the level of other flicks that plunder the genre of popular cinema. Hillarious at a few points but mostly just loud and obnoxious. As a movie worth the almost two hours of attention, spend your time and money on the DVD which will be out very very soon.
