Before I even begin it's important to know that I am a sucker for James Cameron films, I love them all. Avatar has amazing special effects and should win an Oscar. I really enjoyed the movie but the only thing that let me down was the all too predictable ending and how it dragged a bit. I knew exactly what was going to happen during the last 30 minutes of this 2hr 40 min epic. I still really enjoyed it and suggest it to just about anyone.
Flat out one of the most original and entertaining movies I've ever seen. The special effects were fantastic ecspecially considering a $30 million budget. Notable performance by newcomer Sharlto Copley. See this movie!!
I thoroughly enjoyed both The 40-Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up so I naturally thought I would fall in love with this movie. Although there are good one-liners and one really funny seen with Ray Romano and Eminem the movie fell short. The main issue is that it goes on forever, 2hrs 20min! Although hilarious Apatow movies like the two I mentioned earlier are approx. 2hrs long they're way more entertaining. Parts of this movie of just very slow and even depressing. I would see it if your an Apatow fan, but I would think twice otherwise.
The movie is pretty good, obviously the action is amazing and the audience can enjoy the characters. Now there are some obvious flaws; holes in the plot, corny over the top scenes and just some plain stupid material. In addition the movie seemed very LONG. It's about the same length as the first one but it just didn't flow as well because so much stuff happens. With Michael Bay as director the movie isn't going for any best picture awards; it simply aims to provide entertainment for a mass audience and it successfully does. The critics have been pretty rough on this movie but no matter what anyone says it's going to make an enormous amount of money.
Okay so we've seen this sort of movie before, big woop. If you go into this movie relaxed and ready to laugh you will not be let down. Critics are saying it's unoriginal and obnoxious but that's ALMOST just the point. It may try a little hard at times and seem incredibly stupid but I got a fair amount of genuine laughs out of this movie.
I can't really think of much to say besides absolutely hilarious. Definetly the funniest movie of 2009 to date and I would go see this again for a second maybe even third time. Zach Galifianakis is hilarious and I was laughing for most of the movie.
After watching all the trailers and clips possible I had high hopes for this movie. I wasn't necessarily disappointed I just wasn't stuck to the screen like I thought I would be. I feel like they used too much CGI and Director McG did a mediocre job. The guy knows how to direct an action scene don't get me wrong but when it comes to deep dialogue, don't expect any. Notable performance by rising star Sam Worthington.
I was very pleased to find that this movie was AWESOME! Special effects, plotline, eveything was great. I was ecspecially pleased with how the writers set up the history of each character showing the audience what they were like when younger. If you can take advantage of IMAX, it's worth it.
Although the basic plot seems way too familiar I still recommend this movie for several reasons. Liam Neeson was great, the action was great, and it was an entertaining movie. Basically a mix of Bond and Bourne but still worth seeing for sure.
Going into this movie I expected a lot and it fell short in several categories. Clint Eastwood did great acting and directing but the actors who played Su and Tao were absolutely awful. I was thinking Best Picture contender but got a mediocre movie with some funny lines. I'm only giving it four stars because Clint Eastwood yet again pulled off a good ending.
