All I could have hoped!

After investing years following the saga (books and films), this final cinimatic presentation did not disappoint. While the dark nature of the film may not be suitable for younger viewers, it was a fitting finish. My spouse, who is more of a Lord of the Rings fan, enjoyed it thoroughly.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Could Have Been Better

I've read everything and seen all movies many times. This was the only disappointment to date. It seemed disjointed and jumpy. Just when we were expecting more detail was coming, it jumps on; leaving out too much detail in some areas and including unnecessary plot lines. If movie play time dictates that only some (or the main) story line(s) can be properly told on the screen, then they should have narrowed the story focus and portrayed it more completely. I really wish we could have 'do-overs' on this one. Send them back to the editing room and patch back in what was so painfully obviously cut. I'd have rathered a 4 hour movie with an intermission than what we were served.
