In the Code, Langdon's part came off as a series of mini-lectures. In A&D, there was less lecture and better flow. I also didn't mind the departures from the book. Vetra's relationship with her older co-worker worked just as well in the time available for this 2.33 hour movie as making a bigger deal of it by making him her father as in the book. I'm glad the plot stayed away from what could have been an expected attaction between the cerebral Langdon and the beautiful physicist. The action and detail in many of the sets was impressive and will bear many viewings with a finger on the pause button when this comes out in DVD.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

There were times when I could feel the warmth between Gere and Lane, but for the most part, their connection was forced and their individual connection with their characters was also strained. Never mind how strained the situation was, the scene wherein Gere's character had the chance to get from anger to empathy lacked the authenticity I think he is capable of showing and Lane was not as genuine as she seemed in Under the Tuscan Sun. Nonetheless, the point was made and the ending was poetic. I'd see it again if the opportunity arises.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
