This movie moves so slowly that I went to get popcorn, and when I got back, I hadn't missed a thing. It's full of creepy-but-pretty people- like a mall on Saturday night. There's an awful lot of moody staring at each other. Way too dumb for most adults to enjoy. Nothing scary at all in this film, so it won't make even little kids have nightmares. Young teen and pre-teen girls will think the guys are 'just so hot! Parents, go see Seven Pounds while your kids see Twilight.
Save the Earth. Destroy the people. Now, there's a theme Al Gore can sink his teeth into. I think Obama helped write the script because "We can change!" was the only manta/sales pitch the about-to-be-obliterated humans could come up with. Keano Reeves was, as always, mediocre. Sadly, even Kathy Bates- who's usually terrific, was handed such a crummy script that there was no way she could shine. Go see Seven Pounds instead!
Very good movie. It's not one of those totally unforgetable films that will make movie history, but it is a unique story that hasn't been told before, and has a good message- sort of. I figured out what he was planning to do within about fifteen minutes, but it didn't spoil the story for me. Will Smith is AMAZING in his role, with worlds of expressions in his facial quivver, and a plethora of emotions abailable to him in his craft of storytelling.. Smith definitely has star power and brings beleivablility to the story. Woody Harrelson has only a small role, but he's great in this film. He's gained so much weight, though, that he's hardly recognizable.
Five of us went to see Bolt in 3D last night. The youngest was 19, the oldest was 65. We all enjoyed it a lot. The animation is AMAZING, and it's worth seeing the film just to see that. (Look closely at the little girl's hair- amazing artwork!) This is a cute, simple story that almost any age person can understand. There are some surprises with "big" sights and sounds in the 'chase' scenes. Be prepared to feel compelled to do a little fun spontaneous ducking and dodging in your seat if you see the 3-D version. Not an off-color inuendo in the whole show. Every kid in America will want to see it, and will love it. Adults in tow will be glad they went along for the ride. Good clean fun.
