I went to a Thursday night screener of this film with my wife and was truly blown away by the movie's approach to the comic Tony Stark and his evolution to Iron Man. I really have no issues at all with its portrayal and felt that beyond a shadow of a doubt that Robert Downey Jr. was THE perfect choice for the role. Additionally, I thought that Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard and Jeff Bridges were fantastic in their parts though admittedly I had my doubts originally about the approach to the character of James Rhodes. The movie really takes more time dealing with Tony's kidnapping and armor R&D than a great deal of fight scenes, though each time he dons the armor, the sequences are breathtaking. The final battle as well alone is worth the price of admission. Lastly, do NOT leave the theater until the final credits roll or you will regret it. There is not only an extra sequence there, but one that will make any fanboy squeal with delight.
