A Good screenplay gone wrong?

I think the Orphanage, the screenplay had what it takes to be a blockbuster hit but someone dropped the ball, Juan Antonio Bayona. The failure to capture the audience by being more funny than scary at the outset was this movies demise. Alot could have been done in post to help this movie live up to its trailer.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
