I've seen this film twice. The first at midnight, the film broke immediately after the killing curse. I am not kidding. They repaired it, gave us a free ticket to see it again. Thank you CineMark in Lake Charles La. (My kids saw the midnight show in San Jose Ca and they, too, had problems.)
Anyway, I loved the humor, and since the dark passages were very dark, this film needed lots of comic relief.
I did NOT like the two added scenes, although the opening scene is growing on me. I still detest the added scene at the Burrow. I understand they have to show Harry as a target, but they went too far.
There were lots of nuances that I missed with the first viewing; I recommend at least a second to catch everything.
My 13-year-old daughter and I saw this film and found it entertaining. She enjoyed the movie immensely; she laughed and was totally engaged. It had enough adult jokes to keep parents entertained, too. Good message too: believe in yourself. Kids will love this film. Parents won't be bored.
