Meryl Streep can take every descent movie script and turn it, with her huge talent, into an exciting movie. Here, again, she majestically plays the role of Julia and makes you feel you want to be in Paris at 1949 or at least watch closely how she cooks. The flow of the movie between the two periods of Julia's life vs. Julie's life is well balanced. And when the movie discusses classic French dishes, it is a no brainer for me.
For the British movie lovers, this a truly Brit creation, telling a story of the early 20th century English society characters. Strong acting and excellent scripting. Worth an evening st theater.
