Growing up, I loved watching Kung-fu Theater every weekend on the USA channel. This movie brought back memories of those old classic kung-fu movies, but with a lot of comedy. If you like Jack Black's style of comedy, this is definitely a must see movie. There are non-stop laughs and the star studded cast adds to the charm of this action comedy feature. Once again Dreamworks does an excellent job of creating a computer graphics world that is vibrant with colors and fun to watch. The crisp visuals, excellent voice acting, action scenes, and gut busting comedy by Jack Black will make this an outrageously fun movie going experience. I recommend that everyone go see it. It will definitely put a smile on your face.
If you liked Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison, then you will find this movie hilarious. There's a lot of crude humor and totally off the wall antics. Sandler is great in this movie as the super hero like super soldier, The Zohan. The laughs in this movie don't stop from beginning to end. Although this movie is only PG-13, I do not recommend bringing younger kids due to the highly sex related nature of the film. Ironically, I would bring my 6 year old daughter to see Prince Caspian which is also PG-13 but there is no way I would want her to see the Zohan's antics. I made the mistake of letting her watch Blades of Glory, but that's a story for another time. Overall, I really enjoyed this movie. I got exactly what I expected: over the top, totally unrealistic yet hilarious comedy. And remember "You don't mess with the Zohan!"
After watching Prince Caspian, I guess we can expect part 3. Even as a sequal, this movie does an excellent job of character development and creating a lot of interesting new characters. This movie basically takes place a year after part 1 and brings back the luster of the magical world of Narnia. There's a lot of action to peak your interest in the beginning and the finale does not disappoint as expected. But just like part 1, the middle goings of the movie tend to break the pace and can seem a little drawn out. This was a very entertaining movie with great special effects and a lot of great fighting scenes. Being a fantasy type fan, I love watching all the mystical creatures of Narnia interact with their surroundings as well as engage in battle. Do not miss this!
If you enjoyed Hulk, Batman, and Spiderman on the big screen, then this is a must see. Tons of action, tons of special effects, and a great story are all ingredients for an awesome and entertaining time at the movies. Don't worry if you never read the comic books when you were a kid or probably never even heard of Iron Man. This movies has it all and I guarantee that the entire family will enjoy it. The PG-13 rating is due to scenes of war between Iron Man and terrorists. It does get a little intense, but my 5 year old daughter was able to handle it.
Being a horror movie fan, I was very excited to see this movie on the big screen. I think it does a great job of creating anxiety and fear throughout the movie. The acting is ok, but let's face it, you don't go watch a horror movie for oscar winning performances. The movie keeps a decent pace once everyone is introduced in the early beginnings and once the fun starts when they get to the "Ruins". There are many decent "make you jump" scenes and the violence and gore are top notch. It's amazing what we can do nowadays with computer graphics.
Bottom line... this is an entertaining movie. I would reccomend this to anyone interested in horror/thriller flicks. If you take this movie at face value and let yourself get immersed in the story (no matter how thin), it is enjoyable. Just don't expect to be "wowed" in any way. Otherwise, it would make a great Netflix rental in the near future.
If you enjoy fantasy type movies, this will be right up your alley. Great special effects and decent acting help keep this movie running along at a good pace. Although the movie is rated PG, there is a lot of violence. My 5 year old daughter was a bit scared when the fight sequences occured. The ending fight sequences can also be very intense for younger children.
What can I say... I had a smile on my face throughout the entire movie. I am not sure if I can say this is the best Rambo film made, but dang was it good. Stallone, although a littel aged, looked good. He slid perfectly into his old role as the harbinger of death to those who terrorize the innocent. Great special effects, awesome gore, and radical action. Yes, I said radical. Watching this movie takes you back in time to what Rambo was in Part I and II. I recommend this movie to all action movie fans and is definitely a must see for anyone who loves the Rambo series. THIS IS A MUST SEE!!!
This movie had a lot of potential. Don't get me wrong, I think JJ Abrams had a great idea. The execution though was not done well. Abrams goal was to make a youtube like type of movie. He succeeded but it was overkill. Imagine the worst home movie ever filmed. Shaky camera, zooming in and out way too fast, and just really quick jerky movements to where you start to get dizzy and nasueas. Well, Cloverfield is 1 and 1/2 hours of that. Great special effects and great story... just poor execution.
I took my 5 year old daughter to see this movie and she really enjoyed it. There were some scenes in the movie that did startle my daughter and confused her. The movie takes place during WWII and there are scenes where the soldiers are shooting at the Waterhorse. This was a little intense for my daughter and frightened her. She really didn't understand why they wanted to kill the Waterhorse. Other than that scene, the movie is relatively harmless. It is a bit depressing at times but overall was an entertaining movie.
