Yes folks, we have a new standard for the Golden Turkey! This movie is nothing whatsoever like the original. A classic example of greed driving cinema into the ground. The cast even look upset and embarrased in the film. Like they know it's being done all wrong. The makeup is pathetic, the story is stupid, the acting sucks, the direction is pathetic. It just feels like a mindless endeavor. Hollywood can be proud of setting a new standard for bad to the bone film making.
Yet another anti constitution movie. This is a major propaganda film eager to seek rationals for the "government" violating constitutional rights. The DA swears to uphold the constitution then runs out to break it and we're supposed to feel he did the right thing. This is not a pure entertainment movie but deliberate social psyops at work. See this movie, but see it for what it is and ask yourself why they are putting this in front of you?
A minor disappointment. The movie seemed to be a bit of a low budget g-a-y = love film. It did a fair job of capturing the period and the sense of the event and it's history, but some of the music was not related to Woodstock and that was a bit of a disappointment as well. The film could have been much better if it had used actual footage of the concerts to underlie the basic story. The story focused heavily on the coming of age of a guy and his family relationships. Definitely some nostalgia for us older folk.
This is one of those unfortunate movies that has some great stuff that is ruined by gore. It's like one of those South Park episodes that is so vulgar you have no choice but to just switch off. There is atleast 1 full minute of close your eyes and plug your ears. While on one hand, I'd love to see the movie again and again, the gore ruins that and I will never watch it again. Tarrantino's Jesuit upbringing shines bright. Don't see the movie, boycott the violence.
Beautiful scenery hides the fact that this is one of those movies that deliberately lies to the audience in order to carry the intrigue. The lie is not in the form of a who done it in character misdirection. The lie is that things are said and behaviors taken that the bad guys would never have done. I felt robbed at the end. To put it in context, several times in the movie, when the bad guys are alone, they talk and act as if they are the ones afraid the others rather than plotting their attack. The scenery is great but otherwise the movie is worth avoiding.
There is one segment in particular you will want to close your eyes for as much as 1 minute. Not suitable for children. This is a very realistic film and although it shows a kind of heroic and dedicated leading role, it isn't really a glorification of war itself. Rather, the movie is a tribute to the poor people in adverse circumstances and the self sacrifice that one man offers to humanity. Good film. Should be an Oscar winner.
While the subject is very important for us all. The film leaves a lot to be desired. The film opts to be graphically and authentically violent regarding the treatment of the animals which, in my view, limits the audience and the message. Thankfully, the sound does not match the violence so closing your eyes works pretty well. Another weakness is that it is not really conspiracy aware. The Film could have been a lot more educational. There are many intelligent comments by the rural folk. But when you see the movie think control is franchise and the web is money.
I have to admit, I was very pleasantly surprised. As a lover of the original series and an avoider of everthing on TV that followed it, this movie was great and totally on track with the original. On track down to the basic personalities of the key crew members. The script is excellent and should result in an academy nomination. The best graphics I've seen in any movie. Some minor disappointments around such concepts as time travel but that's just how it hits me. Overall, well worth seeing as an adventure film.
A simple beat the clock flick that just doesn't playout that well. Illuminati vs Vatican is the basic theme for most of the movie. Since it's pretty well established today that the new illuminati was a merger of the vatican and the banking elite in 1776, this movie seems odd if not over propagandish. Granted it's just a movie but the theme just doesn't seem to play well or make much sense. Not as powerful as Davinci code. Something about the luxurious surroundings that make the movie seem almost like an insule to our intelligence. As pure entertainments it's ok, but not what I had hoped for.
This is yet another one of those movies that tries to make sense of the current moment by interlacing the past. A kind of flashback rich environment, Duplicity, more than anything else, is "Playing" the audience and leading us on a merry chase. Slight frustration, curiosity and entertainment is the result. Not a bad movie, but I have to say, the casting seemed a bit odd to me. Overall, I'd say it's a good matinee piece.
