Almost as good as Pixar movie. Very funny, very entertaining. Animation looked even better than the Incredibles. Very recommended.

Review by Adult Who Did Not Read the Book

This review is for those who did not read the books, and is free from worrying about the adaptation. I took my teenage friend's daughter who is a fan of the series to see this. I watched the movie with an open mind and actually found it somewhat interesting. The movie is flawed with more than a little melodrama and some bad dialogue, mostly at the beginning. But if you can let that slide, as well as a somewhat cheesy and unsophisticatedly presented romance, some entertainment can be taken from this movie.
To summarize, I say go if you may, but leave most of your judgment at the door, and you'll be mildly amused.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
