In short: Overall it was well acted, written and directed. It's reassuring to know these 3 components still thrive in the craft of film-making when all we seem to get are whiz-bang 3-D action adventure special effects films geared to the 12-24 year old crowd.
You won't find that crowd here.
We enjoyed the film and I was pleasantly surprised when the final credits rolled and the audience broke out in applause.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

What A Surprise

I assumed this was going to be one of those "artsy-fartsy" movies of which I'd either hate or just fall asleep watching. Having just endured the mess of a movie called "Inception" with Leonardo DiCaprio where the director's egotistical vision of self importance outshone a shabby script, I was not in the mood for what I thought was going to be an arts film about ballet, a subject of which I have little interest. So it was with great reluctance that I went to see it. What an utter surprise! I found this movie well acted, well directed and cleverly crafted...right from the start. This movie made me feel that the art of great story telling is still alive.
