Book was better, but movie was still entertaining!

While this wasn't nearly as good as the book, it was still very entertaining. As a reader of the series, I was disappointed with the screenplay as it excluded a few small, but to me, very important details or scenes from the book. The direction was ok, but I preferred the director from New Moon. Should be very entertaining to anyone unfamiliar with the story.

The previews looked like this would be a 'summer fun' comedy. While there were a few good laughs, they were few and far between. Most of the subject matter was quite serious and some of it even depressing. I'm not saying serious movies are bad, just not what I thought I was getting into. I was expecting a funny 80's movie, more in the 'Wedding Singer' style. Well acted, but not what I enjoy. Would not recommend it.

I love superhero movies, but this one fell far short of expectations. I waited for a year in anticipation of it's release. I hadn't read the graphic novel, as upon asking, someone who had suggested I didn't before seeing the movie. I didn't care for the story. All the 'heroes' had dark sides, which is fine, but some were so dark I couldn't like the characters anymore. Not as much action as I had expected. Plot was a little complicated. Somewhat disappointed with the story in general. Visually stunning. Wouldn't not recommend unless you have already read it.

NOT PERFECT, BUT PRETTY GOOD!

If you go in open minded and realize there is no way to cram a 500 page book into 2 hours you will enjoy this film! Look past the low budget, albeit not awful effects and enjoy a great romantic, action adventure!
