Tim Burton (at his not so best)

The movie is worth seeing. Lots of hype and a true "event" movie; however, because its a Burton/Depp collaboration on an all time classic the viewer is expecting a "wow." You won't get that. Helen Bonham Carter gives the true stand out performance, her Red Queen is everything you thought Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter would be (and isn't)...unrepented, unredeemable, over the top, and laugh out loud funny. She steals the movie. Johnny Depp gives a "so-so" performance. The story itself was good, but could have been much better. As for the 3-D, the movie could do without it and Disney needs to take a lesson from "Avatar" with regards to the 3-D glasses. They dont cover your full view. It's what the main complaint about 3-D has always been.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
