Terriff movie- depressing end. But then that's what Batman has always been like when played accurately. He always has been one of the grimmest, darkest heroes around. This time he has a worthy opponant in the demented Joker. As played by the late Heath Ledger, this villian isn't and never was a pretty boy or a sane one. He tells multiple stories about his horrific scars (someone deliberately cut him, he deliberately cut himself) but it doesn't matter which one is true. He's delighted with the end result anyway. He's the freewheeling id who has no wish to be sanitized and controlled into behaving. He doesn't care what effect he has, so long as he has an effect. That's the scariest villian of them all.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
