Great Animation

We took our eight- and four-year-old sons to this movie yesterday. The eight-year-old enjoyed it but it was a bit dark for the four-year-old. I actually enjoyed the darkness of the animation, which was wonderful, and appreciated that the animated characters actually look like the actors who are voicing them. The 3-D animation is truly a marvel in this film. My big complaint though is the score, which uses Christmas carols willy-nilly throughout, seemingly without any thought to how the text of the carol relates to the action the music is supposed to be accompanying. But an enjoyable holiday film overall, both for adults and older children.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
