I saw this play in the 70's; purchased the dvd in my adulthood. I so loved that American playwright and poet [Ntozake Shange] allowed Tyler Perry to bring this to the big screen. I have been such a fan of this "Jersey" girl ... [Ntozake Shange] since I was 10 years old.
They kept very much to the play but was able to expand and give it some "Liberties of Creativity". This was realitive [then] and REALITY now. I hope everyone see's the original screen play.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Oliver Stone knows Wall Street and BIG money(go see movie)! And you don't have to see the first one to follow the 2nd (but I suggest it).
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great chemistry between (Dana and Lonnie) Queen & Common. The sports scenes were believeable and it was not JUST a chix-flick.
The trailer showed MOST of the highlights of the movie. For some reason, I felt that the primary female cast could not act (like the were reading their lines) and ALL are seasoned actresses. Whereas, the primary male casts acting ablities were flowing from their mouth. For the most part, the movie was predictable. He (TPS) threw one slight element of surprise (at the end) and I did not like the cliff-hanger at the VERY end. But as usual TPS, gave folks topics to explore in their personal lives. "I could have waited for the DVD".
