The opera as presented by the Met was excellent.
The showing as presented by the movie theater was not so good because it was way too loud. People who like this music form want to hear a range from soft to loud, but this was loud to very loud. It also had distortion, which is very bad in this context. Theaters should be trained in the difference between this type of program and the more typical movies they show.

Good movie, not-so-good theater

Tosca at Madison, WI, in Point Cinema:
Excellent showing by the Met. The theater had the sound way too high. I once sat in the first row at the Met and the sound was not as loud as this---very unpleasant. Also the theater passes out information to read before the performance and then doesn't give us enough light to read it.

Absolutely wonderful, as are all the Met movies. Intermission features are a big part of the experience, and they are equally good.
