I was a little surprised to find that not all of the jokes and laughs in the film were showed in the trailer - something, I've found pretty common in the past couple years.
Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott were great, but completely out played by the 'littles' in the movie, Bobb'e J. Thompson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse - so great in the film with great timing.
I wouldn't recommend taking the kids for this one, but for anyone who doesn't mind a little crude humor, I'd tell them to run to the theatre!
I've read all of the book series and I went into the movie, thinking that it was going to be awful. it wasn't. It summed up the book well and left the ending in a perfect position for the sequel - if it's going to happen.
The acting was fine - at first I didn't agree with the casting, but they all did a good job - considering all of the hype for the characters that they had to live up to. The direction was also fine, not great but not bad and the camera work was pretty good, not too shaky or unfocused, which is what I'm seeing more and more up of lately.
I wish I could give 1/2 star ratings, but I really enjoyed this.
Craig rocks as Bond again, in his second time in the role - just great. My sister didn't care for the story - but I found the movie easy to follow and enjoyable. I think this has a little more action than Casino Royale did, but if you like Casino Royale, you'll enjoy this.
The camera work is a little shaky at times, which got on my nerves a little, but wasn't that distracting as it has been with other films.
I wasn't all that excited about the fllm from what the trailer showed - but the acting was great - wasn't impressed by Zellweger, but the other actors were fantastic. Viggo is the man - he's is always great!
The story line was alright for a western, but a little predictable. I was the the only person there under 40, seeing that I don't usually see westerns - maybe this is the norm?
Entertaining fluff might be a bit harsh... I really enjoyed the movie until the exaggerated and ridiculous birth scene arrived. I hate to say it, but labor room jokes have all been done before and this one was rather annoying. The acting was fine and the first half of the movie was pretty close to the original movie... the second half, however, goes in a completely different direction and so does Bening's character. VERY different from the original film. There is also ALOT of product placement in this movie... It could also be a little distracting if that sort of thing bothers you. Another thing that I had to really work to get past was Meg Ryan. She really ruined her face with all of the plastic surgery.
I would like to see this as classic Allen. There were alot of people in the theatre who left and were shocked as to some of the subject matter. There really wasn't anything too graphic, but I guess I'm a little harder to shock than the other people in the theater.
The acting was very good and the direction was fine. My favorite part of this movie was how Allen makes the filming locations into a character. I always leave his films, aching to go to where ever they filmed the movie (ok... except for Small time crooks). He captured the spirit of Barcelona. Not that I would necessarily want the same experiences as the characters in the movie - but it made me want to hop a flight nonetheless.
This movie definitely had some laugh-out-loud moment! It also has some shocking moments too. There is definitely some unexpected props and gore in this movie.
The acting and direction was great. The timeline can be hard to follow, if you don't pay attention. Clooney, Pitt, McDormand and Malkovich are awesome in this movie!
I don't think that anyone who actually wanted to see this expected it to be any different - yeah - ok, I was surprised to see the Yeti's... The same action, wit and characters are back - even though the face of Evie has changed, they roll with it.
This is the second movie I saw this summer where Jet Li is mostly computer generated or in very heavy make-up. Although, Jet Li fans may be disappointed with the amount of martial arts or stunts involving him.
I enjoyed the movie, I don't know if the success was enough to do another movie on - they hint at another at the end of the movie... I'll be interested to see if this movie series continues on or if it ends in China.
This movie was about what I expected - cute, fluffy and funny. What I didn't expect was that, including me and my friend, there were only 4 people in the theater.
Colin Hanks fits easily into his geeky-hunk love interest to Anna Faris' ditzy blonde playboy bunny.
There were easily some laugh-out-loud moments to the movie, but don't see it thinking it's going to be deep and thought-provoking.
I enjoyed this movie - not just because it hosted eye candy a plently for guys or gals - it was past paced and action packed. The movie flew by. Don't get me wrong, it was corny at times and there is a good amount of gore, but it's called Death Race, people - with a title like that, there's bound to be gore and violence.
I've never seen the first version of this, Death Race 2000, by Harvey Corman - but I'm sure that I would like this version better :)
Take it for what it is, an action movie - doesn't have to win oscars - just has to be fun and easy to watch.
