The sheer talent alone that was needed to create this movie is awesome - I'm so jealous. I saw this in 3D and loved it. I love to watch the new REAL 3D movies. The movie isn't for kids, even though it's animated.
The colors and imagination is great and worth the price seeing the movement in 3D.
one thing, order tickets online and had to still wait in line at the box office to pick up the glasses, keep this in mind if you want to pick up your tickets at the kiosk!
I haven't read the graphic novel, considering how much I read, it was a shock to me as well. What I wasn't expecting was the amount of nudity, it wasn't unpleasant, but just wasn't expected :)
The story progress rather slow, I was expecting it to be more of an action movie than it was... it was alot deeper than I expected as well.
The acting and special effects are great and the film is visually stunning. The only downfall, is the storyline, it's slow and complicated.
I know alot of people who wouldn't care for the movie, but a lot more that are dying to see it. So, my recommendation is that if you want to see this, then you'd enjoy it... if you ave any doubts about it, skip it.
That's right, I had passes. The movie was alright, but I found it borderline offensive to the stereotypes that it projects. I realize that it is all in fun. I should have seen other movies in the series before seeing this one.
I was reluctant ot see this movie, just because of all of the hype. It was a fine movie, the actors did a good job with their roles - my beef is with the special effects crew and the post production aspects of the film.
I didn't care for all of the CGI effects of the movie, I found them to be completely distracting from the storyline. Of course, how else would you age brad pitt through so many decades without some form of special effects?
I wish that the trailer didn't give as much of the storyline away. It ruined most of the surprises for the film!
I enjoyed this movie alot - I thought that this was definitely a worthy nomination for the best picture award and that Kate Winslet completely deserved to win Best Actress for her work in the film.
This is a compelling story, one not for the faint of heart.
This was my 3 year attending this marathon and I love it every year! It's a great, fun value that, while, is very long, also lets you watch all of the five films that are nominated for the best picture award.
My pick won this year (yeah!) - go Slumdog. I really enjoyed the trivia, even if I didn't win anything - I knew every answer though!
I didn't like that the moviewatcher discount wasn't available through movietickets.com - but it was still a good value!
I enjoyed this movie, but I was hoping that if would have been longer and told more of the story behind the lycan/vampire wars.
I really enjoyed Michael Sheen returning to his role of Lucian - the pasty lycan from the first underwold movie returned to become quite the hunk in the third installment of Len Wiseman's series. The movie follows lucian's rise from being a vampire slave for the vampires, to a character to fear. Rhona Mitra plays his doomed love interest.
Mitra has some big shows to fill, trying to replace Beckinsale as the first lady of the Underworld series, and does a decent job.
If you liked the other Underworld series or are a fan of the genre, don't miss this!
It seems that this movie wants desperately to become the next superhero franchise, to follow the likes of X-Men and Batman - but with these storylines this will not happen.
I enjoyed the movie, don't get me wrong, but it was terribly lacking in so many areas. The acting was so-so on the part of the main players and the script seemed a little contrived. I think they could have done so much more with the 'powers' in the movie. The editing wasn't that great either.
If you are looking for a mindless bit of a superhero action movie, then check this one out.
I had been looking forward to this movie for some time and saw it - well most of it on opening weekend.
I was really digging the movie, attaching to the characters and pondering their future, when BAM the picture went out in the theater. The sound was still playing but no picture. I high tailed it out to an employee and proceeded to wait 30 minutes until they fixed the problem. Only to find, when the picture came back, that the film had been running the whole time and now the audience had missed a 30 some odd minutes of the film. They wouldn't roll-back and wasn't very apologetic - so we left.
I'm a chick and I enjoyed the movie, granted it was terribly predictable and the screen play could have been better - but that didn't stop me from laughing my butt of in the theatre! I think the characters are relatable and the actors did an OK job.
John Goodman and Joan Cusack were pretty good in the film but had no chemistry together.
Given that this is a PG movie, I think that some of the people in the theater were disappointed that it wasn't more adult and less fluff - but everyone found the movie funny.
