"And here we go..." Says the Joker as he reaks havic on Gotham City and its citizens. So much can be said about Heath Ledger and his unique take on the Joker. He was smart, funny, and especially errie! I have read the comic and he has to be the closest to any vision of the Joker that anyone has played. Although the movie is called The Dark Night, there is so much more to it than Batman. This is a crime drama, not so much an action adventure film. Christopher and Jonathan Nolan truely made what could be the most realistic "superhero" movie. There are 3 sides to this movie; we obviously have Batman's side, then there are the police/politicians, and then the mob bosses. Notice how the Joker isn't on any of them! The whole movie your sitting there saying "where is he going to be next???" because you truely do not know! He is a true terrorist. He does not care about anyone, he is an "wild hungry dog" that wants chaos. He is also scary because you dont know his origin. In the 1989 version you knew how he became the Joker which made him cooler and funnier. Ledger's Joker is down right creepy! Then theres Batman who is always taking the beating while trying to live as Bruce Wayne. Bale does a good job as always although he could use a little less emphasis on the raspy voice he does when he has the suit on. There were times where i really wanted to take him seriously but his voice almost made me laugh. Dont get me wrong, he still does a great job being my all time hero but when they make the next movie i hope he tones that down. The surprise was Harvey Dent Played by Aaron Eckhart. He was caring and an all around good person and he acctually made me "believe in Harvey Dent". Knowing what would eventually happen to him makes me even more sad to see how it happens. The movie begins with the excitment of seeing Batman but in the end you realize how much more of a symbol he is rather than a hero. After seeing it twice i find that there is so much more to this movie than good verses evil. Its about perspective and what we need instead of what we want as people. All in all it is an excellent movie and i recommend that every person and there mother watches it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
