I recommend this movie with some hesitation, but it boils down to the ONLY reason to see it is for the 3D effects, which you just won't get on TV. That said, the novelty of these special effects becomes thin after the first hour.
It's unfortunate that they spent so much time/money on this movie, with little more to show for it than the effects. Cliched characters, sporadically interesting plot, and DEADLY dialogue. I was itching to get out after 2 hours.
And I don't see how anyone could possibly compare this movie to "Star Wars," which in its time was much more innovative and at least had some humor/pathos in its dialogue and characters.
